Gratings for shelving
The grating for shelving from JK provides excellent rigidity and allows better visibility of stored items. It can be used to equip pallet racks and to store loads of varying weights, whether or not they rest on the rails. Metal grating is an alternative that is increasingly used in this sector due to its ability to allow water expelled by sprinklers to pass through in the event of a fire. Made out of S235JR steel, the grating for shelving is available in press-lock or press-welded.
BENEFITS
THE GRATING FOR SHELVING OFFERS MANY BENEFITS
- Offers excellent rigidity and stability to stored elements.
- Allows better visibility stored elements.
- Allows the passage of light
- Allows the passage of water (Sprinklers)
- Quick and easy to install
SURFACE TREATEMENT POSSIBLE
- Raw steel
- Galvanized

DEPENDING ON YOUR CONSTRAINTS, DIFFERENT MODELS ARE ACHIEVABLE
Model A – corner flap
This model is especially suitable for shelving where the height is restricted, for uniformly distributed load.
Model B – flanged edge
Suitable for various types of shelving, this model has many advantages, especially when it comes to its production costs. With its support on the beams, it allows a greater load pick-up and safety with its flanged edges which immobilises the grating on the racks.
Model C – with cleats
This model allows support and stability of the gratings as the racks are supported by the cleats underneath.
Model D – notched edge
With its support on the beams, this model can bear greater loads and provides optimal security based on the way it is indented.
Model E – notch
Thanks to its two stops, this model allows the stability of the gratings in the racks. Thus it allows maximum security.
Model G – folded sheet metal
This model is especially suitable for shelving where the height is reduced and for a point load.
Model Z
This model is especially suitable for shelving where the height is reduced and for a point load.
CHARACTERISTICS
MESH
- The mesh spacing is defined in accordance with the standards and loads that must be respected:
- For a BB thickness of 2-3 mm:
- The BB spacing is typically a multiple of 11.11.
- The IB spacing is typically a multiple of 11.11.
- For a BB thickness of 4-5 mm:
- The BB spacing is typically a multiple of 18.
- The IB spacing is typically a multiple of 17.
- Other options are available on request.
BEARER Bar
- Standard height: 20-150 mm
- Standard thickness: 2-8 mm
- Other options are available on request.
TRANSVERS BAR
- Spacer: 10 x 2 mm
- Other options are available on request.
Dimensions
- Maximum length of bearer bars: 4000 mm.
- Maximum length of spacers: 2000 mm.
MATERIAL
- S235JR steel as per EN 10025 standards.
FINISH
- Available with 'T' or 'flat' edge
- Available with single or double notching on request.
- HALF-MOON or SAWTOOTH notching available.
FINISHED product
- Custom manufacture based on the dimensions given by the customer or on plans drawn up by our research department.
STANDARDS
- Numerous standards regulate the conditions of use and maintenance of storage systems / shelving / cantilevers. Although there is no specific standard applicable to shelving gratings, it is worth noting that
this product is particularly suitable for enforcing the EN 12845+A1 “Fixed firefighting systems - Automatic sprinkler systems - Design, installation and maintenance” standard.
ASSEMBLY
Gratings for shelving are available in press-locked and press-welded gratings.
JK Technic press-locked grating is characterized by transverse, cross bars inserted under high pressure into pre-existing notches in the bearing bars. This grating is produced in “flat” or “T”-shaped sections, welded into place and then optionally undergoes hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with the applicable EN ISO 1461 standards. For situations with an increased risk of slipping, anti-slip grating can be produced, where the upper surface of the bearing bars and/or the transverse bars can be given anti- slip serrations. JK Technic press-locked grating is typically manufactured from EN 10025 standard S235JR steel, which ensures a consistent production quality. RAL-GZ 638 manufacturing tolerances applied.

Step 3 :
Application of banding bars
Press-welded grating is obtained by electrical welded transverse bars, which are usually square and twisted (but can be round and straight) into the bearing bars. The grating is produced with “flat” banding, and then optionally undergoes hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with the applicable EN ISO 1461 standards. For an optimised anti-slip surface, it is possible to produce serrated press-welded grating, with serration on the bearing bars only. It is typically manufactured from EN 10025 standard S235JR steel which ensures a consistent production quality. RAL-GZ 638 manufacturing tolerances applied.
